Hi, I’m Sean (Shaun :) I’m a Christchurch-based marriage celebrant with one clear goal: to help you have the wedding that feels completely, unmistakably yours.
I’ve had the joy of officiating over 800 weddings, from tiny backyard elopements to full-scale formal events. Along the way, more than 400 couples have left five-star reviews across WeddingWise, Google, and Facebook. My reviews are my diplomas.
A recent independent analysis (July 2025) found that on independent wedding sites, I had the most verified reviews and the highest average rating of any celebrant in Christchurch, if not New Zealand, with feedback constantly mentioning my calm presence, professionalism, humour, and ability to put people at ease.
My background is in public speaking and comedy, which taught me how to read a room, calm the nerves, and deliver the right tone at the right moment. That means relaxed, well-run ceremonies that still feel personal, heartfelt, and genuinely you.
And if you’re planning something a little different, I’m in. I’ve been the Gandalf celebrant at Hobbiton, worn wizard robes for a Harry Potter vow renewal, gone full Bridgerton for a garden ceremony, and even time-travelled in a bowtie for a Doctor Who fan wedding. (Costumes optional, of course.)
